Keep on Trucking When It Matters Most
The team here at Transfix has been deeply affected by the images of vast flooding and damage in Texas and the Gulf states following Hurricane Harvey. Our concern extends to our carriers, who need to navigate the roads safely; our shippers, trying to ship goods to communities in need and provide disaster relief support; and of course, all the people on the ground who need basic supplies like water and food.
I’m pleased to report that in addition to our ongoing work with Anheuser-Busch in 2017 we were also able to assist them in the days leading up to Hurricane Harvey’s destruction. As Anheuser-Busch adapted their brewery in Cartersville, GA to deliver much needed water and other necessity goods, our teams worked around the clock to ensure that critical loads were connected with capable carriers in order to move more than 560,000 cans of drinking water to the Houston area. This work continued through and including on Labor Day when we were onsite in Georgia for a special event led by Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta and Anheuser-Busch CEO Joao Castro Neves to thank those that put work before rest and did what needed to be done. While we were just a small part of the overall recovery efforts, it was important for our company to play a part and we were honored to partner with Anheuser-Busch.
We continue to be excited about how our technology can dramatically improve the way the supply chain works, in moments calm or chaotic, exciting or challenging. We believe the merger of software, data and smart connections between the right people and companies has the chance to be transformative for carriers and shippers everywhere. Truckers are the backbone of the U.S. economy and we are committed to figuring out ways to make their lives better.
We were happy to help the folks in Beaumont and the Houston area, and couldn’t think of a better way to support Anheuser-Busch in their monumental disaster relief efforts. We will continue to look for these opportunities because it is important to who we are as a company.
